Community value is not a programme we add at the end — it is built into the way each campus is powered, cooled, staffed and governed from the first day of development.

Local energy partnership & grid balancing

We work in partnership with local energy companies for power connections and grid balancing and contract additional and new renewable energy production for our power demands. Renewable energy sourcing and battery storage are developed together with the utilities that manage and optimise the electricity system — firming the local system, providing reserves during scarcity, and adding clean generation where it is consumed rather than importing strain.

Zero-carbon heat for the community

Direct-to-chip liquid cooling lets us recover high-grade excess heat and feed it into the local district heating network — renewable heat for local homes, businesses and industry that would otherwise be produced by other sources. What a data centre usually wastes, our neighbours use.

Local jobs, skills and R&D

We work together with local municipalities and communities to create job opportunities — through construction, long-term campus operations and the supplier ecosystem around them — and to support research and development with regional universities, institutes and vocational programmes.

Long-term commitment, close dialogue

We develop, build and hold our sites for the long term, in close and continuous dialogue with local stakeholders — municipalities, landowners, residents and rights-holders — from the earliest permitting stage through decades of operation. A long-term owner has every reason to be a good neighbour.

Our model maps naturally onto the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals — clean firm power, circular heat, regional jobs and resilient infrastructure — and we are building our sustainability reporting to the EU CSRD standard expected of companies of our ambition.
